Try out this new take on a classic.” We figure this item will be about as useful as the Pistol. Worth picking up early game when you don’t have any weapons, but not really worth keeping throughout.Vaulted WeaponsRare Tactical Assault RifleImpulse GrenadesRift-To-GoPirate CannonIn getting rid of the Tactical Assault Rifle, Epic Games explains: “With the unvaulting of the Suppressed Submachine Gun, we wanted to make sure loot distribution in this class of item was well distributed.” Getting rid of the Rift-To-Go is an interesting change, although with the Slipstreams and Ballers added in it makes sense. There’s plenty of other transportation available to make the Rift-To-Go no longer an important item. The Pump Shotgun is back!At the start of Season 9 in Fortnite, Epic Games made the shocking decision to get rid of the Pump Shotgun. Users were not happy with the news, and grew increasingly angry over the new Combat Shotgun because it became too OP. Also, the Tactical Shotgun was pretty much useless in gameplay, meaning if you didn’t get a Combat Shotgun, you weren’t winning most fights. Well, Epic Games listened and announced the return of the Pump Shotgun in its v9.30 Content Update on Tuesday.MORE: All Beach Party locations needed for new Fortnite challengeThis is why Pump Shotgun is back in FortniteThe Uncommon and Rare Pump Shotgun is now in the game. They are available in floor loot and Vending Machines. Here’s what Epic Games said about bringing the weapon back:”There’s been a lot of feedback around the Tactical Shotgun and Combat Shotgun effectiveness, and so we’re experimenting with a world where the Pump Shotgun joins the current shotgun lineup.”When Epic Games initially vaulted the Pump Shotgun, it was because the weapon was being used too much for eliminations compared to others. Here’s the reasoning behind the initial vaulting: “Specifically when it comes to Pump Shotguns, they stand out significantly: they currently account for over 26% of eliminations in default playlists, with the next weapon type not even coming close. Rather than nerfing the Pump Shotgun to a point where it no longer lives up to its fantasy, our preference is to return it to the vault, giving us an opportunity to revisit the general balance of the item, while introducing a new shotgun.”I don’t have access to Fortnite’s numbers, but I’d assume the Combat Shotgun was probably close to the Pump’s 26% of eliminations number. Now, users will have the choice between the Combat and Pump, which could be interesting.Other Fortnite 9.30 Content Update Patch Notes Unvaulted WeaponsPump ShotgunShockwave GrenadeSuppressed SMGWe already covered the Pump Shotgun. As for the SMG, Epic Games explains: “We feel the Suppressed Submachine Gun can fill a complementary role to the Burst Submachine Gun as a viable alternative.”As many streamers have noticed, the Burst SMG hasn’t been a great weapon. Bringing back the Suppressed SMG should be a good move.Weapon ChangesThe Tactical Shotgun, Burst SMG, SemiAuto Sniper Rifle, FlintKnock, Infantry Rifle, Minigun, DrumGun and Heavy Assault Rifle all received minor changes in either damage or availability. You can read the full Patch Notes on Epic Games’ website. The Supply Llama also received minor changes as they ncreased the material count from 200 of each to 350 of each and also increased the total number of Llamas per match from 3 to 5.
